Super Swing

We cleared a space on the south side of the house for some monkey bars and swing set, built the set, set it in concrete and then had a truck load of wood chips brought it. Waylon had a blast moving chips, I can't say I enjoyed that part as much. Leila spent the day pouting but she still looked cute in her sun hat.

Spring 2009

Grandma Oregon come for a visit over Easter, the kids had a great time and Rickey and I got to go out for Dinner while they played with Grandma.

Visit from Aunt Lora

We took the train in Durango to the Pumpkin Patch outside of town. Big fun for the kids, it rained but they didn't seem to mind.

Randy and Shirley were here for a visit during Escalante days in Dolores, kids had fun with Grandpa and Meemaw

New Puppy

Maybe ended up being a Maybe not, Waylon was a little scared of him so he has a new home with big kids and we got a little puppy that Waylon picked out and named Mayo, they get along great.

Surgeon General's Visit

The Surgeon General came to Shiprock this summer for the grand opening of a wellness center my department created in a local middle school to combat childhood obesity in our service unit. Really big deal to us and neat to get to chat over lunch with the surgeon general (he is the short dude in the middle).

Idaho Visit

spring/summer update

None of these pictures are posted in order but I think you can figure it out. In early May, Waylon, Leila and I took out first camping trip to Arches NP, big fun but little sleep. Next its the trip to Texas to visit Grandma/Pa and all the cousins, during that trip we played in grandma's pool and went to May's farm where we got to feed lots of animals and ride horses. Back at home Waylon gets his first "summer cut" on the back porch and rides the "trainer" with dad, Leila plays in the park and is pulling up on her crib. Finally we have a new addition to the family, he is a rez rescue and Waylon named him Maybe; somedays it's more like maybe not as he is 5 months old and already 48 lbs.
